I think it is great to have flexibility and a chance to be your own boss and work on your own terms. I personally think it is almost impossible to stay away from technology this days, technology is going forward and the online market became much more available than ever before. There is plenty of work online, from online teaching companies, through virtual assistants and customer chat consultants to transcriptionist, translators, influencers and entrepreneurs. You can be all of them at once and start getting money from the comfort of your own house.
Online opportunities and online companies you might not want to miss at
I personally have tried plenty of jobs online. Even if your dream or ultimate goal is to become an entrepreneur, influencer, Youtube-r, blogger etc. As great as it sounds , it is almost impossible to generate stable and reliable income at the beginning go your journey. You have to wait for a while for your social platform to grow and then you have an opportunity to get money in various ways. For instance advertisement, affiliate links ( e.g. amazon or eBay) , brand promotions etc. But while your goals and dreams are still pending. You can still start making money online.
Start making money on Pinterest for example, become a Freelance Pinterest Assistant or create affiliate links to the products you are promoting on your own Pinterest account. As a Freelance Pinterest Assistant you will have to manage various brands Pinterest accounts approximately 1h per day and get paid about $20-$50 per hour for your work. Requirement? Simple, knowledge on Pinterest, how does it work etc.
You can also try earning a passive income from your youtube channel or you can also try to become a course creator on Udemy if you have knowledge about something specific, that you don't mind sharing, launch your course and keep getting this passive income coming.
There is also an option to become an online sales person. If you know something about sales and online marketing.
You can also become a Virtual Assistant and help private owners and bigger businesses with emails and general paper work.
As I mentioned before if you can speak English, have Bachelors and TEFL or TESOL you are welcome to apply for a position of an Online English Teacher. There is plenty of companies recruiting ESL teachers every week, f ex Landi, I-Tutor Group, First Future, VIPKID, Q kids, Cambly - more informal than the rest of the companies as you will simply have fun conversations with your students instead of normal lessons (pay lower than other companies) and finally, Italki- Italki is a bit different as well, you can teach any language not only English as long as it's your native language. If you do not feel motivated to do any of the jobs mentioned above you can always apply at Rev or other websites for any Translation, Transcription or Captionist Job and you can translate movies if you happen to be bilingual, create captions to the videos and transcribe speech to text etc. It is not the best pay and the application process can be long and boring, but at the end of it, you are your own boss and it works great as a side income.
Why working online is a new future
I think majority of companies are online at the moment. Online market place and e-commerce is extremely popular these days. I think it is important to comprehend how fast the technology is developing and the fact that we have certain opportunities now that weren't there before. Education is important, although it does not always provide you with job straight away like it did before. Now almost everyone has Bachelors or Masters. Young adults often decide to take fate in their own hands instead of relaying on others. And Internet gives us opportunity to do so.
My personal decision and pros and cons of my decision
The reason why I love online jobs is because they give me flexibility and freedom, I can travel anytime I want, work from wherever I want, anytime I want. I have also a chance to express myself through my work and hopefully turn my passions into a full time career. To work you need only a laptop and a strong internet connection. You are a man of your own fate. Which feels nice, but obviously not everything is for everyone, depending on personality you might need this human interaction from time to time! Also it is not always easy to find motivation as no-one will tell you what to do anymore, you will have to motivate yourself ( which is not easy at times). Therefore you can decide for yourself, wish You all the best ! :)
