Teaching online how to start and how to create your own business without spending a penny.

Updated: Feb 21, 2019

The best way of teaching is teaching online, no more people telling you what to do and when to do it, you are your own boss. If you have a talent or you are simply passionate about something, you could potentially share it online and earn something from it, while not spending any money on travelling, having more time for yourself, having the flexibility and freedom to work for yourself from anywhere in the world you want. Obviously that is a big plus. Unfortunately, nothing is black and white and everything has it's cons. You might feel a bit lonely at times or you might find it hard to motivate yourself to get out of the house. It is also hard to keep inspired at times, as you tell yourself how much you work. You need to take care of your clients needs and meet their expectations, even the demanding ones. No clients no money, you can forget of stable income if you want to work for yourself. But if you work remotely for a company you may expect stable hours and pretty stable income. It is useful to keep the schedule, be consistent and determined. After all everything depends on you.

Advertise yourself for free /Websites worth visiting

1. Superproof

You can easily create your profile as a tutor in anything you would like from music to maths. You can apply the amount you want to charge, but you have to be prepared the website will take a commission of you. You also choose your own hours and book your own classes. The downside of this website is that there is a great amount of tutors, so there is also a potential that you won't get enough clients. Also it is hard to get the clients straight away, as without ratings and positive reviews you won't have a lot of engagement on your profile.

2. Udemy

This website has a little bit different approach to a traditional teaching. You can create and launch your own online course in any profession. It is a great way to earn a passive income from something that you have knowledge of. After creating and launching the course you have nothing to worry about, you just wait and see. Maybe create and launch another online course, while you earning passive income from the first one. Again the website takes a commission from your sales, but it also helps you promote your course.

3. Teachaway

Teachaway is a website where you can find plenty of online opportunities. This works a little bit like indeed , where you can look for a job. Usually bigger companies looking for remote workers. So if you do not really feel like you want to pursue the entrepreneurial path, but you would still like to work from home , that might be a good place to find it.

4. Tutorful

Tutorful works pretty much the same as Superproof , you get your clients they pay you, the website takes commission. You choose your own hours and the amount you will charge per hour. Again you need to build your profile for it to be fruitful.

5. My tutor

Its an english website and it works in England. Works a little bit like Tutorful or Superproof, although it has more requests for 1 to 1 teaching rather than an online teaching. It finds the students from your area. I feel like teaching online is not only much more comfortable but also much safer. I think travelling to other people houses might be a bit overwhelming and time consuming. The client contacts you via website and then you agree on the date, time and place of the lesson. You can also try to convince your clients to have the lessons online if they are okay with that.

6.Preply

Preply is a place where you can teach different languages. They mainly want native teachers to teach their native language, but you can also advertise what other languages you can teach. The website takes commission, but you decide how much you charge per hour and when you want to teach. The client books the lesson with you through the website, based on the schedule you provide. First lesson is free, which is good and bad. As if the client does not like you for any reason, you won't get paid for your time.

7.Verbling

Works similarly to all the websites mentioned before, its most similar to Preply. After creating your profile you can teach various languages. First 30 min lesson is free, so you will have to consider that.

7. Skype

There is obviously much more websites than the ones I mentioned doing similar job. You can easily find them on google. This ones I mentioned are the ones I personally used and tested. But obviously you do not need a website to teach online in fact you do not need much just some material, good headset, computer, stable internet connection and... Skype. If you have or know people who would love to learn online, great. If you want to teach english for instance, you can easily find plenty of materials online for free, plus you can create your own exercises or lesson slides in Power Point. You can also make the lessons more conversational if that is what your client wants. You can do that with teaching any language, but not only. You can teach Drama, Music, Science, Yoga even Dance if you have enough space in your house. I think it is also a great opportunity to connect with people from around the world and get to know about them and their culture.

I think like any job it has its pros and cons. And if you want to be an entrepreneur and a teacher you need to know that the beginnings are not easy and as I mentioned before, you need to be pretty motivated. But I guess that is a good way to learn and test, if you have what it takes without spending a pence on your business.
