Skiing in Polish mountains. Prices and more.

Updated: Feb 27, 2019

Polish mountains are beautiful and not that tall, which is quite good for beginners and less advanced skiers. Also they are quite cheap to visit, due to the currency exchange and flight prices. If you happen to be in Poland during the winter apart from visiting main tourist attraction Cracow, you can also decide on a romantic/ fun trip in the mountains.

I went quite recently to Krynica Zdroj also known as Krynica Gorska. We stayed in small village called Tylicz which is 10/15 min drive from Krynica Zdroj. That way we saved some money on the accommodation and got only 5 min walk to the closest skiing resort, which we could see through the window. We got also 10% off on the skiing ticket from our accommodation.

We stayed in private accommodation in Tylicz called Andrejko, we were lucky as we were all by ourselves in 4 people apartment with private bathroom and small kitchen for our use for only about 30 pounds per person for 3 days. We also arrived 8 hours earlier than we supposed to, but great landlady let us in and allowed us to the room.

Apart from that we payed only about 15 pounds each, for the 4 hours skiing ticket in Tylicz Ski Station . I think it is a pretty good deal, as 4 hours was enough to make us really tired. You could also stay on the stock till the evening and have a blast next to the fireplace. Renting equipment for the whole day like skis or snowboard cost you about £5/£6 pounds per person from the small shop across the road from the Tylicz Ski Station.

It takes you about 20 min to get to the Krynica Zdroj by bus and it will cost you less then a pound, one way. Also you should consider good and cheap place to eat. I found few cheap restaurants worth mentioning, two in Tylicz and one in Krynica Zdroj. So the first restaurant we went to was in Tylicz and was called Restauracja Folkowka, only 2/3 min from the place we stayed in. Reasonable prices and great dumplings! Next restaurant we went to was called Pokusa, good prices and nice pizzas. But the restaurant serving number one pizzas in great prices, with the best variety of food was in Krynica Gorska( Zdroj) and was called Oberza ( swojskie jadlo).

Apart from that there is a lot of gigs happening in Krynica Gorska, so make sure to come at the right time. You can also taste some healing waters straight from the ground. If you are looking for more relaxing time, there is plenty of hotels with spa and treatments in Krynica in really reasonable prices compare to UK. Hope that helps and happy travels !!
